Torré de Belèm, Lissabon

On the outskirts of Lisbon, Belem  is the  Tower Of Belem.
Build in 1515 as a fortress to guard the entrance to Lisbon’s harbor.
Once the tower stood on an island but an earthquake changed the flow of the River Tagus which made the tower stand against the mainland. The tower is accessible by a bridge over the water.
