The Attica Zoological Park in Spata is spread over an area of 200 acres and is home to more than 390 animal species , 60 mammals , 300 birds and 30 reptiles with a total population of 2000 animals. The operation began in May 2000 , initially as a Bird Park, having the third largest bird collection in the world ( 1100 ) . In the marine part of the park, there is a specially designed area with pools and rig 1100 people , where you can watch shows with dolphins and sea lions perform elaborate tricks .

Aquarium of Kastoria

The aquarium of Kastoria is the largest freshwater aquarium in the Balkans. It consists of 49 tanks a simulation of Kastoria and one river Aliakmonas. The aquarium is designed to provide information to the public about the diversity and habitat of fish.

In the aquarium hosts 38 species of freshwater fish, many endemic and indigenous species of rivers and lakes of Greece, and a large number of alien fish species and organisms that live in the lakes of Greece. The pride of the aquarium, however, is a rare sturgeon fish known for its eggs, of which produced the expensive black caviar.

Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes

The Aquarium of Rhodes was founded in 2003 and operates as Aquarium – Museum and Research Unit of the Greek Marine Research Centre. The building housed is classified as a historical monument and was built in 1936 by Italian architect Armando Bernabiti. The Y.S.R aims the development and dissemination of scientific knowledge on the marine environment and the protection thereof.

The aquarium has 28 tanks of sea and freshwater. The Aquarium represents an undersea cave corridors are made of limestone, decorated with natural shells which gives the visitor the impression that is below sea level.
